Upon A Star

You shine and gleam,|
I long and I dream
Stuck in a tragic scene
Of a fairytale I’ve seen, 
An inescapable theme.

To wish upon a star,
A small glimmer of hope,
So distant, so far…
My cliche’d trope,
are letters in a jar.
