Mental Illness

They want to talk of disorder
Let me tell you mine.

A complete lack of empathy
For the well being of others.

What was it called?
Sociopathy?
Psychopathy?
Antisocial tendencies?

They think I’m safe,
More like a gun
With a faulty safety.

Ready to go off
With the slip of a finger
And hurt someone

Unfortunately,
Even if accidental,
My nature remains the same.

Taking a life
As easy as
Forgetting
It ever happened.

There are a lot of things
I let die
Some I have to kill
Sometimes things,
Sometimes people.

Once they’re dead to me
That’s all they’ll ever be.
Better not to take it personally.
Caring isn’t part of my personality.
