To the one who is struggling with self
I see more than you know.
You think you see yourself truly,
But you lie more than you show.
You like definitions and conditions,
But they serve you little good.
Your identity and who you want to be;
A conflict of constant disparity
But you don’t have to choose who you are
Your identity remains ever secured
No matter condition or circumstance
Your fate is one of blessed assurance.
You are perfected in your weakness.
To be perfect is not to be flawless,
But to know the flaws serve a purpose.
You think you are different,
Maybe that you are broken.
The truth is that we all are,
None better than the other.
In ways we are bonded,
But not by shared hardship.
We are made one
Because of who we are despite it.
Not because we understand each other fully
But because we choose to care deeply.
We aren’t defined by our “limits,”
But by our own worth, that is limitless.
