You know nothing
A mind full, but unused
Tragically self aware
But oblivious in substance.
Who wants to spend time with someone
Who can’t stand being with themselves?
Ironic that the very condition
You think will solve your loneliness
Is what will cause others to leave you.
Holding too tightly to something
That doesn’t belong to you.
To people who can’t care
Enough about you.
Not because they don’t care,
But because it’s never enough,
Because they can’t fix the thing in you
That is broken.
You grow to hate
The ones that give you love
Because you can’t love yourself
And no one can do that for you.
You fear abandonment
But how many will you blame
Until you realize
the common denominator
Know you can’t blame anyone
When they desert you.
No amount of sympathy can remedy
Your idea of lonely.
